Stars & Stripes brings a historic and patriotic flair to Greenwich Avenue. In the late 1980s Greenwich Avenue merchants were each issued an American Flag, merchants put up their flag every morning on parking meters and took them down each night. Greenwich Community Projects Fund (GCPF) is looking to bring this 1980s tradition back in a similar fashion. From Memorial Day – Labor Day and on Veterans Day GCFP will place roughly 32 Full Size American Flags on the Lamp Posts that line Greenwich Avenue from top to bottom. Each Flag will be illuminated at night by the street light above the flag.
The Greenwich Community Projects Fund is currently working on logistics for Stars & Stripes. We’re hoping to bring this initiative to the community soon!
What is the Stars & Stripes initiative?
